ABOUT US

My first “real” full-time job started in direct sales, eons ago and it was one of the most fun jobs I have ever had. I was selling waterless cookware to young, single, working women for their hope chests. Of course, I was a single guy at the time, so that made it extra fun. I obtained a remarkable amount of sales skills in doing that and it gave me a lot of experience in “street smarts” as well. What I really learned was how to create a desire for a product that was probably the furthest thing from their minds when I visited them in their homes. I was about 18 years old, making $15,000 a year. During my very first year, I became the 2nd top sales person in the country.

At that particular time, I was living very, very well; I was driving a 1962 candy-apple red Cadillac with a heater in the trunk so the pots wouldn’t frost up in the winter. My philosophy was to live like a millionaire, even if I didn’t have a million dollars, which means you live the lifestyle that you want to live, especially when you are 18 years old and you really don’t worry about the future. As I matured, however, I did start to become concerned about the future.

I then became a trainer, working with other sales people and helping to hone their skills. A few years later, I became a distributor for waterless cookware. The products were made by the Cory Coffee Company. As I became a distributor, I started acquiring my business acumen, and this was a totally different world from sales. I think I started appreciating sales more at that time than I had before, because there are quite a few more challenges when you are going into business for yourself.

I live in Reno & Lake Tahoe, Nevada and have done so for the past 25 years, but I have also lived in Birmingham, Troy & Kalamazoo, Michigan, in Gatlinburg, TN, Hilton Head Island, SC, and Miami & Gainesville, FL. I have also visited many parts of the world, including Europe, Ireland, Tahiti, Dominican Republic and South America. My friends call me Carl, and some of my foes refer to me as "The Monarch". I'm married, and have 2 daughters and 2 sons (twins), all grown, 3 grandchildren, including the beautiful one-year-old Abigail, child of my eldest twin boy, and I have a gorgeous Labradoodle named Doodles.

I enjoy many things, but at the top of my list is visiting Hawaii and Lake Tahoe, relaxing on the beach or in the mountains, although I am addicted to work where ever I am, and whatever I am doing, I am still thinking about work. I spent my last vacation at Kaanapali, Maui, Hawaii, and tested the beaches, the pool, the sun, the sand, the lanai, the restaurants, and several margaritas and mai tais.

Goals and ambitions are motivating and important in a person's life. My goal is to diversify my sources of revenue and income from my businesses, stock market, real estate market; to have health and wealth throughout my remaining years; and contribute to worthy causes.

I've been fortunate to accomplish many things in my life. But I believe my greatest accomplishment is having weathered the ups in downs in the changing economy over several decades and being successful in my ventures despite the ups and downs along the way.

I'm having the time of my life right now by living my dream of owning my own business. Having my own business has meant that I have developed my problem solving abilities to the point that it truly is my forte; it has taught me how to think outside the box and creatively solve problems.
